RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The former chef at Virginia's executive mansion has been indicted on four felony counts of embezzlement in connection with a continuing criminal investigation involving the mansion.

Todd Schneider was arrested Thursday when he turned himself in to Virginia State Police on indictments handed up last week in Richmond Circuit Court. Court records show each alleged offense involved values of $200 or more.

Schneider became the chef at the executive mansion in 2010 shortly after Gov. Bob McDonnell and his family took residence there. He was dismissed last March after a state police inquiry into irregularities in the kitchen of the governor's mansion.

His attorney, Steven Benjamin of Richmond, said Schneider "continues to freely cooperate and provide information to authorities as he has since the first inquiry in February of 2012."
