Tree falls onto Capitol Heights home, seven people unharmed

The original version of this article identified the home as being in Seat Pleasant.
Four adults and three kids were able to escape from their Capitol Heights home unharmed Wednesday after a tree toppled onto it, fire officials say.
The tree that fell struck a home in the 6100 block of District Avenue just before 4:30 p.m. The seven people who got out were not hurt.
The home has been declared unsafe, though, so the residents will be displaced temporarily. Prince George's County Fire Chief Mark Brady said in a tweet that high winds and the soft, wet ground contributed to the tree's toppling.
A small fire broke out in the home's kitchen after the tree fell, Brady said, but it was quickly put out.
