Alexandria crime a historic low in 2012

Alexandria's crime rate was a historic low in 2012.

The Alexandria Police Department reports crime went down by 9.1 percent, or 329 offenses. Crime was at its lowest since 1966. 

Homicide, rape, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny and auto thefts declined in 2012 while robberies increased by eight offenses.
