Eugene Kelly found guilty in Isaiah Harris' death
A D.C. man was found guilty Monday in the May 2011 shooting death of a 15-year-old boy.
On May 30, 2011, Eugene Kelly, 28, shot Isaiah Harris and another 15-year-old as they walked in the 1400 block of New Jersey Avenue NW. Harris died at an area hospital. The surviving teen suffered a gunshot wound to his leg.
According to court documents, Kelly shot the teens in retaliation for his brother's death, but neither teen knew Kelly or had any involvement in his brother's murder.
Kelly was found guilty of first-degree murder while armed, assault with intent to kill while armed and other related charges. He will be sentenced Aug. 6.
