Fairfax County Section 8 vouchers cut due to sequestration

As many as 150 Fairfax County families may lose their Section 8 housing assistance vouchers due to sequestration budget cuts, according to Vienna Patch.

Patch's William Callahan reports that Fairfax County stopped issuing the vouchers in early April because cuts to the Department of Housing and Urban Development's budget has put that funding in limbo.

"We depend on vouchers to house people that we're serving, especially those people who might be very low income even though they're working," Amanda Andere, the executive director of Facets, a local non-profit that help people find housing in times of need, told Patch.
