FCC ordered to respond to lawsuit
A judge has ordered Frederick Community College to respond to a lawsuit seeking the school to disclose details about the dismissal of former President Frederico Talley, The Frederick News Post reports.
It comes a day after The Frederick News Post filed a lawsuit against the school.
In the lawsuit, the newspaper argues that any settlement agreement between the college and Talley that may exist is not exempt from public disclosure. The school’s Board of Trustees said that any settlement is a personnel record and refused to provide details.
Talley served as president for about six months and left Jan. 3. Both the board and Talley cited differences in philosophy and vision led to the split.
A hearing is set for May 23.
