Federal worker pay raise part of President Obama's budget

The proposed budget released Wednesday by President Barack Obama and the White House would see federal employees and military service members get a 1 percent pay raise next year, Government Executive says.

The raise would end a three-year civilian pay freeze, while the proposed pay increase would be on top of a 1.7 percent raise that members of the military received this year.

Obama's proposal comes on the heels of Congress' rejection of the president's 0.5 percent pay increase proposal.
