Maryland house fire leaves one dead
A house fire in Reisterstown, Md. has left one person dead and a firefighter hospitalized Wednesday morning.
Authorities said that the 3-alarm fire at a house on Hanover Road in Reisterstown left Steven Stark, 58, dead. Stark was found in the upstairs hallway of the home. He was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead there.
The injured firefighter has been identified as Gene Kirchner of the Reistertown Volunteer Fire Department. Kirchner, 24, is an eight-year veteran of the department.
The fire took place at a single family home that was converted to apartments at 19 Hanover Road.
Four people are displaced and being assisted by Red Cross.
