Montgomery County employees could see pay raises
Montgomery County government and public safety employees could soon have thicker wallets. A freeze in cost-of-living raises seems to be thawing out, the Rockville Patch reports.
The Montgomery County Council’s Government Operations and Fiscal Policy committees voted unanimously Thursday to support a proposal to raise salaries by up to 3.25 percent.
If approved as part of the county budget, the raise would go into effect in September. Police officers, who haven’t had a raise in four years, would see a 2.1 percent increase in July. Fire and rescue workers would see a 2.75 increase in July.
The measure goes to the full council on April 30.
