Ryan Cox killed in Fairfax County accident
A 23-year-old Alexandria man was killed in a three-vehicle accident on I-95 in Fairfax County early Saturday morning.
A Virginia State Police trooper responded to the scene on southbound I-95 near the Backlick Road exit ramp around midnight. According to police, a Mazda ran off the right side of the interstate and struck a crash attenuator. The impact caused the car to overturn, roll back into the southbound lanes and strike a Ford Focus. The Ford Focus then struck a tractor trailer.
Ryan Cox, the driver of the Mazda, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
