Robert Arnold Jarrett, Jr. murder trial begins this week
ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) - A murder trial starts this week in Howard County for a man charged in the 1991 death of his wife.
Robert Arnold Jarrett, Jr. was arrested last year and charged with first-degree murder after human remains were found at the Elkridge home that they shared.
Authorities say Jarrett reported his wife missing in 1991, saying she had walked away from their home after an argument. Police say they had long suspected foul play, but lacked the evidence at the time to prove it.
He was arrested after authorities searched the home and found the remains of a woman believed to be Christine Jarrett under the floorboards of a backyard shed.
He's on trial in Howard County Circuit Court.
