United Medical Center employee allegedly embezzled $400,000
An employee at the D.C.-owned United Medical Center has been fired after an employee embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars from the facility, the Washington Post reports.
According to the Post's Mike DeBonis, the employee allegedly ripped the Southeast Washington hospital off of $400,000 worth of overtime payments. The employee was able to do so by changing records in the hospital's internal IT system.
The crime happened before the District took over control of the hospital in 2010, the Post says.
