Actress Nicole Kidman is on the list of celebrities who will be in town this weekend. Barbra Streisand is also rumored to be attending. Comedian Conan O’Brien will host the White House Correspondent’s Dinner at the Washington Hilton Saturday evening.

Also confirmed to walk the red carpet are Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn of ABC’s hit drama Scandal, along with Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere of Nashville.

“It’s sort of Washington’s big night. It’s [the] Superbowl. It’s one night where Washington has a bit more of glamour and star status than people think. It’s become more about the celebs and less about the undersecretary or whatever,” said Patrick Gavin of POLITICO.

Before the dinner Saturday, plenty of parties are kicking off Friday night. One invite-only event is the Creative Coalition and Lanmark Technology’s Celebrate Arts in America at Neyla in Georgetown.

“We’ll have Sharon Stone coming, Tracy Morgan, Justin Long,” said  Dannia Hakki of Moki Media. “It’s very stressful because you’re getting phone calls all day from people who are trying to crash the party.”

Secret Service was seen outside the Hilton Friday, getting ready for a guest list of politicians and Hollywood celebrities to rub elbows. Several VIPs came to Washington early to lobby on the Hill for personal causes.

Actress Kate Walsh visited Let’s Talk Live Thursday. The last White House Correspondent’s Dinner she attended was in 2009.
