Amy Hunter sentenced in Chelsea Peterson death
A former nanny at Quantico was sentenced Thursday to eight and a half years for killing a 2-year-old who was in her care in 2011.
A judge sentenced Amy Hunter, 27, who had earlier pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the killing of a toddler identified by the Associated Press as Chelsea Peterson.
At the time of the incident, Hunter was caring for the toddler. Hunter, who was living at Quantico United States Marine Corps Base at the time of the slaying, shook the baby and caused head injuries, authorities say.
