ICE-HSI arrests 'John Doe' child porn suspect, rescues child
The 'John Doe' child porn suspect who has been the subject of a nationwide manhunt was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a public tip was called in to the ICE tip line.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents had issued a public appeal in the hunt for an anonymous man who they said was producing child pornography. Arrest details and the identity of the man are being withheld until his first appearance in federal court, according to a statement from ICE.
ICE officials say that the John Doe produced at least four pornographic videos of himself engaged in sexual acts with a young girl. The victim is believed to be between the age of 7 and 9, officials say in a complaint released Tuesday.
In each of the videos, the suspect is seen both performing sexual acts on the girl and forcing the girl to do the same to him.
Authorities describe the suspect as a 45 to 55-year-old, heavy-set white man with balding brown hair and a brown mustache.
The criminal complaint, which was filed last Friday in U.S. District Court in Washington, only says that they believe the suspect and victim are somewhere in the United States.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of this John Doe is asked to contact ICE at 1 (866) 347-2423 or at www.ice.gov/tips.
