Daniel Swader dies in Frederick County car crash
A 20-year-old Gaithersburg man may have been racing his car before he was killed in a crash at a Frederick County park over the weekend, officials tell the Frederick News-Post.
The News-Post reports that Daniel Swader died when his car crashed into a tree inside Gambrill State Park, just east of Frederick, early Sunday morning.
Frederick County Sheriff's Office officials say that Swader and his passenger, 20-year-old Trevor Robinson, were driving south on Gambrill Park Road when he lost control of the car, swerved and slammed into a tree. Swader was pronounced dead at the scene, while Robinson was not injured.
Reports of racing were being investigated in the area just before the crash, the News-Post says.
