Frederick Community College paid Talley $90K to leave

Frederick Community College paid former president Dr. Frederico Talley $90,000 as part of a settlement agreement to leave the school, The Frederick News Post reports.

Talley, the first African American president of FCC, served for about six months and left Jan. 3 after a closed-door meeting with the board of trustees. Both the board and Talley cited differences in philosophy and vision led to the split.

In April, The Frederick News Post filed a lawsuit against FCC, arguing that any settlement between the college and Talley that may exist is not exempt from public disclosure. The paper received a modified version of Talley’s eight-page settlement with the school Wednesday.
