Kelly Anderson asks for vacation time donations to tend to sick son
As if having to grapple with having her infant daughter in a hospital battling multiple medical conditions, a Department of Veterans Affairs employee in Roanoke is facing another problem.
According to WTOP, she's out of every minute of her paid time off.
WTOP reports that Kelly Anderson is now asking fellow federal employees to donate vacation leave to her and her family so that she can spend more time with her sick son. She's currently out of sick time, vacation leave and time off alloted by the Federal Medical Leave Act.
The Anderson family had their second son, Stone, last September, but since then has been diagnosed with a problem with his intestines and several other ailments. He now weighs less than he did at 2 months.
Anderson is maintaining a Facebook page that provides constant updates about her son's condition.
