Michael Robinson charged in dragging death
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) - Police have charged the driver of a car that dragged a James City County man for 4 miles.
The victim, 30-year-old Letroy Prince Wallace, died on May 21 from his injuries.
Media outlets report that 22-year-old Michael Robinson of Providence Forge has been charged with causing injury or death while racing, leaving the scene, failure to render assistance and failure to report an accident with injuries.
Police say Wallace and Robinson were racing on May 18 when Wallace lost control of his car. The vehicle hydroplaned, spun several times and hit a tree. Wallace was ejected.
The other car ran over Wallace and dragged him. Another motorist alerted the driver that Wallace was under the vehicle.
Robinson told police that he thought he had run over debris from the wreck.
