Navy to introduce flame-resistant uniforms
The Navy is working to phase out its notoriously flammable uniform, the Virginian-Pilot reports, and replacing them with flame-resistant ones.
The Virginian-Pilot says that the Navy will soon come out with a set of coveralls that integrates the current design with material that is resistant to fires. They'll be available within the next 36 months.
This action comes several months after the Navy admitted that they knew the uniforms currently worn by service members were highly flammable.
