OPM to take on federal gender pay gap
President Barack Obama is tasking the Office of Personnel Management to figure out which federal agencies are still paying men more than women on average, Federal News Radio reports.
While equal pay for government workers regardless of gender has been federal law for 50 years, women are still getting paid less on average, according to a 2009 GAO report.
Obama has given OPM the next six months to strategize how to change the government's General Schedule pay system and whether or not it factors into a gender pay gap
