Record number of bear cubs at VA wildlife center
WAYNESBORO, Va. (AP) - The Wildlife Center of Virginia is caring for a record eight black bear cubs this spring.
The Daily Progress reports that the seven males and one female are from locations throughout Virginia. Some were separated from their mothers, some were orphaned and others were found by people.
Rehabilitation staff at the Waynesboro center have been feeding the cubs a special formula. They will be gradually transitioned to more solid foods as they get older.
The cubs can be viewed online at the center's website, wildlifecenter.org.
