It's a day every high school teenager remembers for a life time - prom night.

But for a group of teens who attend Ballou High School, the night is even more special.

A police escort, a stretch limo, and cheering crowds. for four ballou high school seniors...and their guests....headed to prom night...

All of this special treatment - makeovers, tickets to the prom, and a sweet ride - is for the winners of an annual essay contest about fathers - what it is like to grow up with one or how hard it has been not to have one in their lives.

Ballou High School resource officer Edwin Buckner came up with the idea five years ago. Along with his fellow Shriners and several local motorcycle club members, they serve as mentors.

And U.S. Attorney Ron Machen was one of the judges.

ABC7's Rox Plater has the story of a very special night.
