Brookland, Takoma, Silver Spring stations closed for Metro track work
Three stations on Metro's red line will completely shut down for weekend track work starting late Friday night.
The Brookland, Takoma and Silver Spring stations will all close for track maintenance at 10 p.m. Friday. They'll remain closed through Sunday night. Red line trains also will not serve the Fort Totten station, but Green and Yellow line trains will be available there.
Shuttle buses will run between Forest Glen and Rhode Island Avenue.
Trains will also single track on the Orange line between Cheverly and New Carrollton throughout the weekend. As a result, every other train on the Orange line will run between Vienna and Cheverly instead of going all the way to the eastern end of the line.
There is no track work scheduled for the Green, Yellow or Blue lines.
