D.C. council holds hearing on driver's licenses for illegal immigrants
The D.C. council is holding a hearing on Thursday about a bill that would allow undocumented immigrants living in the city to obtain valid driver's licenses.
The legislation calls for licenses to include a disclosure that it isn't to be used as a form of federal identification.
A group of immigrant rights activists rallied outside the Wilson building, insisting all D.C. residents be eligible for a standard license regardless of legal status.
