Darius Harsha, 4, dies in Charles County crash

A 4-year-old boy who was injured in a car crash in Waldorf on Monday has died, Charles County officials say.

The crash happened at about 9 a.m. Monday in the 9500 block of Billingsley Road, when the driver of a Nissan lost control of her car and hit a tree.

Three children, including 4-year-old Darius Harsha, were injured in the crash. Daruis later passed away. The other two children, a 2-month-old girl and a 6-year-old boy, suffered critical injures but were expected to survive.

The driver of the car, 25-year-old Dominicque Marie Hodges, was airlifted to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation into what caused the crash continues.
