Flash Flood Watch for D.C. area goes throughout Friday
A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the entire D.C. metro area starting Friday morning and lasting through the evening.
The announcement comes as the remnants of what's currently Tropical Storm Andrea are expected to impact the Mid-Atlantic region, including the Washington metro area, starting late Thursday night into Friday morning.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions that can lead to sudden, dangerous flooding may develop.
The National Weather Service projects that many spots in the greater Washington area could receive 2 to 4 inches of rain on Friday, with some isolated spots getting as many as 6 inches.
