Inner loop of 495 accident: Lanes open, but traffic slow after accident
The lanes of the inner loop of the Capital Beltway have completely reopened after a tractor-trailer crash shut it down early Monday morning.
All lanes are open, but moving slowly, between Georgia and Connecticut Avenue after traffic was completely stopped when a tractor trailer jackknifed at about 3 a.m.
Major delays are still present between Connecticut and Georgia avenues. It is still best to avoid this area of the inner loop, as traffic is backed up.
Cleanup is now underway due to a fuel spill resulting from the accident.
