Maryland 97 in Silver Spring renamed
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) - Maryland is renaming a stretch of roadway in Silver Spring after a former state senator.
A portion of Maryland 97 in Silver Spring will be renamed Tuesday in honor of former State Sen. Leonard Teitelbaum.
Teitelbaum served as a member of the senate from 1995 to 2007 and as a member of the House of Delegates from 1987 to 1994.
Teitelbaum will be presented with a replica of the highway sign at a ceremony at Leisure World. Maryland Attorney General Douglas Gansler, State Senator Roger S. Manno and Maryland Department of Transportation Acting Secretary Darrell B. Mobley are expected to attend.
