Michael F. Phifer, past Solomons VFD president, accused of sexual abuse
The past president and member of the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department is accused of inappropriately touching himself in front of a 12-year-old girl, SoMdNews.com reports.
Michael F. Phifer of Lusby has been charged with sexual abuse of a minor and indecent exposure.
The victim alleges Phifer touched himself inappropriately while standing in front of her in a Lusby home in mid-May. According to reports, she told her older sister, who then called police.
Phifer tells police the girl’s dog was sleeping with her when he tried to get its attention. He says as he waved his arm, the girl woke up.
Police say the victim's 18-year-old sister and another girl had been allegedly victimized in a similar way when they were between 15 and 16 years old.
Phifer was released from jail on June 15 after posting $75,000 bail.
The relationship between Phifer and the victim is unknown.
