Striking surveillance caught an armed man on camera in mid-May as he casually walked up to two men dining outside Pizzoli's Pizzeria in Logan Circle and robbed them, The Washington Post reports.

The video, released by MPD Thursday, shows the suspect approach the men at a table just before 9:30 p.m. He talks for a moment before flashing a gun. One man hands him his wallet and phone as the suspect puts his gun away. He got away with $220 and tossed the phone and empty wallet into some bushes.

About half of street robberies, both unarmed and armed, include the snatching of cell phones, police say.
