National Flag Day at Vietnam Veteran's Memorial
It's National Flag Day, a day that celebrates the adoption of the U.S. flag in 1777.
The Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington, D.C. will honor Flag Day with a tribute to veterans who died after the war from illnesses like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Agent Orange. These are illnesses that don't fit the criteria for veterans included on the Memorial Wall. This is the 15th Memory Day ceremony to take place on Flag Day.
President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that established June 14 as Flag Day in 1916.
