Northern Virginia Health Foundation's new study
We’ve all seen the studies about how Northern Virginia is home to some of the wealthiest people in the state. But a new study shines a different light on the health of those living in nine counties and cities in northern Virginia.
According to the report commissioned by the Northern Virginia Health Foundation, Northern Virginians struggle with a slew of health issues. Obesity, dental care and alcohol abuse are all challenges according to the study. And more surprising, the issues do not appear to affect a specific age group or income level.
More than a million people in Northern Virginia are overweight or obese. And more than a quarter of all youth struggle with various levels of depression. These are two of the studies biggest findings.
