Sequestration 2013: Defense employees, contractors will share budget cut woes
Department of Defense leaders are trying to assuage fears that direct civilian employees are getting the shorter end of the stick than contractors when it comes to sequestration, Federal News Radio reports.
During a Senate subcommittee meeting earlier this week, officials said that "significant adjustments are on the way" that will ensure that every civilian or contracted defense employee will equally be impacted by budget cuts.
"When you look at the buildup over the past 12 years, the money flowed in, but the time has come where we're going to have to make some hard choices," Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said, according to Federal News Radio.
