Two men were killed early Saturday on the Fairfax County Parkway when an SUV and taxi cab collided head-on.

Police say Manuel Alejandro Jimenez Benitez, 24, of Herndon, was driving the wrong way in the northbound lane at an excessive speed near the intersection of Sugarland Valley Drive at about 1:45 a.m. when he struck a cab head-on.

The collision killed 29-year-old Norbert Sebok and 34-year-old Jozsef Szathmari, passengers in the taxi. Both men died on the scene. They were not wearing seatbelts, police say.

The taxi driver was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. Benitez is in non-life threatening condition.

Police have charged Benitez with two counts of aggravated involuntary manslaughter. Detectives say speed and alcohol are contributing factors to the crash.
