Va. public school teachers required to learn CPR, first aid

All public school teachers in Virginia will soon be required to be trained in first aid and CPR, WTOP reports.

Beginning in the 2016-2017 school year, ninth graders will be required to learn CPR in order to graduate.

The mandate is part of a new set of laws taking effect in the state Monday.

Local school boards can also require bus drivers to learn first and and CPR.
