Beer may improve heart health, study says
A beer a day may keep your heart happy and healthy, a new study says.
According to research published in the journal Nutrition, a pint of beer a day may improve the flexibility and blood flow of major arteries around the heart.
Researchers believe that their findings prove that moderate beer drinking may actually be a protection against heart disease.
According to Counsel & Heal magazine, researchers tested their hypothesis on 17 non-smoking men who had vital heart health signals measured after drinking two-thirds of a pint of beer. They then did the same thing with vodka and non-alcoholic beer.
"Beer acutely improves parameters of arterial function and structure, in healthy non-smokers," researchers said in the journal Nutrition.
