Landover crash involving car and tractor trailer
Updated: July 3, 2013 - 07:57 am
LANDOVER, Md. (AP/ABC7) - Three teenagers were injured early Wednesday morning when the car they were riding in crashed and burned in Landover, Prince George's County Fire officials say.
Police say the tractor trailer was pulling into a warehouse on Ardwick Ardmore Road just before midnight Tuesday when the crash occurred. The car was wedged beneath the trailer, but the three teens in the car escaped before the vehicles caught fire.
Fire department spokesman Mark Brady says the tractor trailer was carrying material used to manufacture mattresses. It took fire crews about 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
Brady says the teens were taken to area trauma centers, but the driver of the truck was not seriously injured.
Ardwick Ardmore Road was closed while police investigated the crash and debris was cleared. It has since reopened.
