Living Wage Act: Religious leaders to meet with Mayor Gray
Thirty religious leaders are gathering Friday morning to urge D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray to sign the Living Wage Act into law.
The bill would require incoming big-box employers in the District to pay their employees at least $12.50 an hour. That's well above the District's minimum wage of $8.25 an hour.
Last week, the D.C. Council passed the bill and, in turn, Walmart announced it wouldn’t go forward with three planned stores in D.C.
