Metal debris causes flat tires on the Beltway
More than a dozen cars traveling on the outer loop of the Capital Beltway had to deal with flat tires Tuesday morning. VDOT says the flats were caused by metal debris in the roadway.
It happened just before 6 a.m. near the Van Dorn Street exit. Traffic moved slowly in the area as VDOT cleaned up the debris and the cars with flats are towed.
There's no word yet as to where the metal debris came from.
