Mike Ribiero signs with Phoenix Coyotes
Mike Ribeiro's brief stint with the Washington Capitals has officially come to an end.
Ribeiro, who scored 13 goals and added 36 assists for the Capitals last season, signed a four-year contract with the Phoenix Coyotes on Wednesday, according to Renaud Lavoie of RDS.
The 33-year-old winger was acquired by the Capitals in a trade during last year's NHL Draft. Washington sent Cody Eakin and a draft pick to the Dallas Stars in exchange for Ribeiro, who was in the last year of his contract.
He played in all 55 of the Capitals' regular season and playoff games in 2013, which was highlighted by the overtime game-winning goal he scored in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the New York Rangers.
Ribeiro's new contract in Phoenix is reportedly worth $22 million.
