The MPD has released this video of a man who may have information on the sexual assault of a female victim on Howard University's campus earlier this week.

Police want you to take a good look at the man in this surveillance video. It shows him getting on a metrobus outside the university on Monday – right after a disabled teenager was sexually assaulted.

Police believe that the man in the video has information about the crime – a crime that Howard students tell us they can’t believe happened on their campus.

“When I first heard that, I was very surprised because Howard University is a very prestigious school and things like that usually do not happen here,” says junior David Bullock.

According to the MPD, the assault happened between 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. on Monday morning. The victim, and 18-year-old disabled high school student – got off a metrobus and was heading to a summer enrichment program on campus when the suspect followed her, pulled her into a classroom inside the school of business, and raped her.

Students say police have been patrolling the campus all week long. Then, on Friday evening, this video clue emerged. Police released the surveillance video, showing a man in his early 20’s walking onto a MetroBus and sitting down. He is wearing a Yankees hat, several rainbow-colored necklaces, a white tank top, and black and white shorts.

ABC7 showed the video to students at Howard, but they did not recognize the man. Police believe that someone out there will.

“I definitely hope justice will be served after this video surfaces,” says junior Ryan Boyer.

According to the MPD, the man is described as a black male with a dark complexion, 6’0” in height, and a slim to medium build.

Sources say the victim was participating in a program on campus that is not affiliated with the school.

Anyone with information that can assist in the identification of this subject is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099.
