Pitbull advocates for children in D.C.

Armando Perez is an internationally acclaimed, multi-platinum performing artist. You also may know him as Mr. 305, Pitbull.

But Wednesday, he's speaking as an advocate for children.

"Education is the real revolution... I mean that 150 percent,” he says.

Pitbull was in Washington Wednesdsay afternoon with a critical message of preparing all children with a strong public education. A guest speaker at National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, the largest assembly of its kind, with thousands of charter school leaders, teachers and parents, coming from country wide with Mr. Worldwide, a charter school parent himself and now the founder of a Miami based school.

Twenty one years after the first charter school opened in Minnesota, 42 states now have them as well as D.C., where 40 percent of school children in the city are enrolled.
