Sarah Greenhalgh murder remains unsolved one year later
Police are continuing to investigate the murder of The Winchester Star reporter Sarah Greenhalgh, who was found dead last year in July.
Greenhalgh, 48, a popular reporter and photographer for the newspaper, was found dead in her burning Upperville, Virginia home on July 9.
"This homicide is under active investigation and remains the top priority of this office," the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office stated.
Her death was investigated as a homicide from the start.
Shortly after her discovery, investigators searched the apartment of a man in Gainsville who had reportedly been seen arguing with Sarah the day before her death.
Since that time, Manassas Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that Sarah's death was the result of a gunshot wound to her neck, confirming her death as a homicide.
