State Department's cybersecurity office failing to secure systems, report says
The State Department's internal cybersecurity office has been so inefficient that it can "barely do its job," according to an inspector general report.
Federal News Radio says that problems at the agency, the Bureau of Information Resource Management's Office of Information Assurance, is leaving the State Department's computer systems vulnerable.
"IRM/IA has conceded that other department elements have a greater role in information security, diminishing the relevance of IRM/IA," the report says.
