Toddler dies after being left in car in Lansdowne, Md.
LANSDOWNE, Md. (AP) - Baltimore County police say a toddler has died after being left in a vehicle in Lansdowne.
Officers say a relative was supposed to take 16-month-old Sabriya Towels to a Head Start Center on Friday afternoon after picking her up at a different place. Police say the relative instead drove to their home in Baltimore, went inside and slept for four hours.
Authorities say the relative then went to the Head Start Center to get Sabriya, where he was told the child had not been dropped off. The relative ran back to his truck and found the child in the vehicle.
She was pronounced dead at St. Agnes Hospital. Her body will be taken to the Medical Examiner's Office.
Charges have not been filed, as the incident is still under investigation.
