I-95 north at Baltimore beltway reopened after crash
ARBUTUS, Md. (AP) - A tractor trailer fire closed all northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near the Baltimore beltway Tuesday morning. All lanes were reopened just after 6 a.m.
The blaze started after the tractor trailer crashed with a tow truck on I-95 just south of Interstate 695 in the Arbutus area around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Hazardous materials crews responded to clean up gas spilled on the highway. No injuries were reported.
The State Highway Administration says northbound traffic was being diverted onto Interstate 195. One southbound lane was blocked to allow northbound traffic to turn around, but has since reopened.
As of 6:34 a.m., there were major backups in the area.
