Air Force master sergeant fired over gay marriage views, he says
A longtime Air Force veteran and master sergeant says he was fired last month because he and his commanding officer because they had a disagreement on gay marriage.
Military Times reports that on July 26, Senior Master Sgt. Phillip Monk was relieved of his duties by his CO when they disagreed on their positions on gay marriage.
The commanding officer is an open lesbian, Military Times says. A spokesman for the 37th Training Wing, where both Sgt. Monk and his CO are based, did not comment.
