Marines prohibited from traveling to parts of Mexico
Members of the United States Marine Corps are now prohibited from traveling to several different parts of Mexico due to the threat of increased drug violence south of the border, Military Times says.
Unless they're sent there on official orders, Marines are now no longer allowed to go to 12 of Mexico's 31 states.
An expert told Military Times that the move is a signal that military leaders don't think Mexican authorities can adequately protect American troops while in their nation.
