Military sex stings going after Craigslist users in Afghanistan, Iraq

The Baghdad section of Craigslist.org is being swarmed with people warning American troops against undercover sex stings by officials, Military Times reports.

While posts on the Baghdad site have decreased significantly since the majority of troops were withdrawn from Iraq, the problem is still apparently prevalent enough for military officials to run the operations.

Military Times says that they began investigating troops who used Craigslist to solicit sex after a July report that outlined the use of the website by service members.

In one post dated Aug. 3 to the Iraq Craigslist website, an anonymous user says that the Naval Criminal Investigative Service in Afghanistan have begun similar investigations.
